I Don't Like Change...

For the past year I have had a four year old.

For the past year I have been saying things like, "When you're five..." and have his little face brighten up with anticipation for the big day.

For the past year I have been counting down the days with a sombre expression.

Cohen's 3rd Birthday Party

For the past year my son has been counting down the days with dimples on both his cheeks.

And yesterday...it happened.  He turned five.  There was nothing I could do.  It was like watching a train wreck.  It was like watching another Nicholas Sparks movie.  There were tears, there was blood, there was Olive Garden.  Brett knew I needed something to get me through it all....

Cohen at 4 (barely)

Now he's counting down the days until his birthday party.

The boy is never satisfied.

Cohen at Five.  FIVE!  I can barely handle it.

And I'm counting down the days until those heathens take him away from me.  Kindergarten.

Isn't it the strangest feeling to have a 5 year old? Something about 4-5 that is just HUGE! He sure is a cutie!
