Wiggly Worms

Thank you everyone for your comments on my last post.  I read and re-read them and felt the power of Motherhood surging through my veins.  Not even the Hulk could contend with me at this point!  I'm allllll riled up!  Haha!

Speaking of Motherhood (and yes, I capitalize "Motherhood" because it is a title, and a holy calling, and we should get paid) anyway, speaking of Motherhood, I think I told you before about my very sweet friend who made me a box full of quotes and thoughts about Motherhood.  I loved this quote today and wanted to share it with all of you mothers out there that were kind enough to get riled up with me.  Even though this quote has nothing to do with being riled up.

In fact, it's given by an amazingly sweet woman.  Though I wonder what she would've done to the "Hitter"...?

"We have a great responsibility to our children. Find joy in them.  Don't overschedule them or yourself.  You may not be able to take them on exotic vacations.  It doesn't matter.  When the day dawns bright and sunny, take an excursion to the canyon or park.  When it's cloudy and wet, read a book together or make something good to eat.  Give them time to explore and learn about the feel of grass and the wiggliness of worms."
-Sister Hinckley, Glimpses, pg. 75

Such a simple thought.  There are some heavy quotes and ideas about Motherhood, and there should be, but I just adore how simple Sister Hinckley's outlook always is.  She always has a way to remind me about the little things.  Like the wiggliness of worms.

I watch my children for hours play with Stella, our bunny, and am amazed how much fun they have just chasing her around, watching her hop, giving her weeds to nibble on.  They find fun in everything they do, and I find great joy in watching them.  It brings tears to my eyes right now just thinking about how excited they get to see a Hummingbird, or trying to find out where the sun went when it's hiding behind a cloud.  Children are so amazing.

So, go have some if you don't already, and play with the ones you got!

And thank you again, Cheyenne.  You give me a daily breath of fresh, non-bed-rest, air.  Love you!
